Happy Earth Day

Earth Day 2009 is here! Can you believe it falls so soon after National Chocolate Covered Cashew Day?

I love this photo and these kinds of beautiful earth shots in general. We are really just wee little chocolate molecules or atoms, whichever is smaller, running around in our own little tiny rivets. It puts things into perspective and kinda makes the little stuff and fluff melt away, as it should.

But Father Earth and Mother Nature? Definitely not little stuff nor fluff. Find it in your heart to do something sweet for both today. : )

F E L O P Z

Highlight of the day for April 16th, 2009? Leaving the ophthalmologist's office with a solution to my peeper probs! Will I actually be able to see my computer screen again? Will a Chocolate of the Month be a necessary part of the cure?

April 15th

Time to pony up, pay the piper, deliver the goods. It's the dreadful Day of the IRS: Tax Day. It's when your fingers are shaking as you write that check, and your face gets real hot, and all your blood goes to where it's not meant to be. Then you just have to sit down for a minute, and try to think of something else. Maybe something chocolate!

It's long been a tradition with friends to eat only Poor Boy Sandwiches, or as many say, a dern Po' Boy on this "tax day." If you have chips or salad and a drink on the side, m a n, you are some kinda rich!!!

But take heart, my friend. Those of us who have nothing monetary to pay today, hooray! And those of us who do, we pay for the country that lives in our hearts and rests in our souls. From sea, to shining sea.

April Showers

April showers bring May flowers! And we all love flowers, right? Flower cookies, colorful chocolate flowers, chocolates with citrus floral flavors and chocolate covered Oreos with nice pretty flowers on top! We are even so very kind, we will take chocolate off your hands if it merely has a floral design, or a floral motif on, say, a new Spring Collection! Yes, we're just good in that way, we are. We'll do a lot. For chocolate.

Oh Well

Nothing left from the party but the clean-up. Or in my case, a frig full of ham. Where's all the excess chocolate?

Turkey leftovers at Thanksgiving are skimpy compared to my french horn of ham, and although there are lots of ham sams (sandwiches) and ham and eggs, and various assorted ham pairings, I sincerely hope desire outlasts supply. Of course there's always the neighbors. They're the kind of eaters that will come and help polish things off even if they are bordering on toxic.

Eggs

It just seems that Easter has such
bee-utiful chocolates!
Why, an Easter
Chocolate of the Month
could come once a day,
don't you agree?
These pretty photos leave
me saying,
"So many chocolate eggs, so little time!"

Happy

Today is my sister's birthday, and man-o-man, are we sisses ever in the mood to celebrate! Mom is out of the hospital,
f i n a l l y, after just SIX WEEKS, six thousand complications, and sixteen breakdowns - that's roughly 5.3 per sis. Yesterday morning she settled in to the "Long Term Care Facility," don't call it a Nursing Home! Then yesterday evening she took off walking for home. "One day at a time" is the greatest saying of all time.

So this evening, we will be so thankful for our beautiful Sis born on April 8th, 1938 (hahaha - good one!). We will celebrate the life and breath God gives to each of us, and that we have one another to share it with, in health and goodness. Today. One day at a time. Happy Birthday Sis. I love you!

Decorative Egg Salad

I have a ridiculously large collection of eggs, each one more
beautiful than the last. But none like these intricately decorated
ones! And alas, no chocolate eggs. Oh well, we know which ones last the longest.
